World-renowned and defiantly traditional, the 12-hectare Marcarini estate can trace its roots back to in the mid-1800s, when Giuseppe Tarditi established his winery in La Morra, in the heart of the village. Our vineyard estates extend over 25 hectares in the Langhe and Roero. They are the winery s center of activity and bear prestigious names such as Brunate and La Serra, both situated in the area of La Morra; Sargentin in Neviglie particularly adapted to the growing of the Moscato grape; and Muschiavino in the town of Montaldo Roero. Their position and sloop, the nature and composition of the soil, the exposure to the sun, and the exceptional microclimate are all fundamental requirements for obtaining excellent wines. The different vineyards, all owned by Marcarini, are cared for with particular and attention. We have adopted a system of pruning aimed to limit grape production, as well as maintenance composting techniques using organic substances. We practice controlled cover crops between the vine rows, and the vine diseases are treated with products strictly based on traditional methods. We cultivate exclusively well-suited and native grape varieties: Nebbiolo, dolcetto, barbera, Arneis and Moscato Bianco. Today, it is run by the ebullient Manuel Marchetti along with his three children Elisa, Chiara, and Andrea. But there is evolution here: all three children are increasingly involved, with Elisa taking on more of the winemaking, while stricter selection in La Serra and Brunate has elevated these iconic wines ever higher.
